The Facilities Division operates across campus to maintain and develop our buildings, providing vital support services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 

A great opportunity has arisen to join a busy, dynamic and friendly team in support of our vision “making campus an inspiring place to be”.

We currently have four vacancies for College Porter Security on our main Bailrigg Campus within the Facilities Division at Lancaster University.  The posts are four full time positions working an average 42 hours per week on a 24 hour shift rotation.  Shifts are 12 hours in duration and rotate between day and night shifts, 365 days a year.  

As well as the basic salary the posts also attracts a Shift Allowance and an allowance for Contractual Overtime.

You should be hard working, reliable, willing to learn and possess excellent customer service skills. Portering experience is not essential but desirable with experience of working in a similar environment.   You should be comfortable working with computers and multiple software systems. You will need to be educated to GCSE level in Maths and English and be committed to high standards, able to work on your own initiative whilst also being comfortable working in a team environment. You will have a flexible approach and attitude to solving day to day problems. You should also be open to adopting new ideas and processes and have a willingness to undergo development training.
