You will begin as a Customer Advisor 1 (4b) with the potential to advance to Customer Advisor 2 (5a) upon meeting eligibility criteria and business needs. This demonstrates a commitment to nurturing talent from within.
  • Comprehensive Training: Full training will be provided over several weeks at our County Hall, Beverley location, ensuring you are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel in your role, regardless of prior specific experience in council tax or benefits.
  • Flexible Working Arrangement: The role offers a hybrid working model, balancing the benefits of home-based work with essential office-based collaboration. You will be required to work in the office at County Hall, Beverley at least two days every four weeks, with a designated desk space provided for your home working setup.
  • Impactful Role: As a Customer Advisor, you will be at the forefront of providing crucial support and advice, ensuring every customer interaction is positive and productive. This is a role that directly contributes to the well-being of the community.

  • Commitment and Flexibility: Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to high standards of customer service and the flexibility to adapt to changing service needs. You must be comfortable dealing with complex legislation and procedures.
  • Experience: While comprehensive training is provided, some prior experience with council tax, benefits, or council rents is considered essential for this role.
  • Working Hours: Please note the varied working hours required to meet service demands. You will work 37 hours per week, with shifts alternating between Monday to Thursday (8:30 am - 4:30 pm or 9:30 am - 5:30 pm) and Friday (8:30 am - 4:00 pm or 9:00 am - 4:30 pm).
  • Fast-Paced Environment: The Contact Centre is a busy telephone environment. While previous experience in such a setting is an advantage, it is not essential. Your ability to thrive in a demanding yet rewarding atmosphere will be key.

If you are a motivated individual with a passion for customer service and are looking for a stable and progressive career, we encourage you to apply. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team and contribute to a vital public service.
