Career Opportunity: Customer Delivery Driver - Waitrose & Partners

Are you a motivated individual with a passion for customer service and a love for quality food? Waitrose & Partners is seeking dedicated Customer Delivery Drivers to join their esteemed team in Lutterworth. This role offers a unique opportunity to be the friendly face of Waitrose, delivering exceptional produce and embodying the spirit of "passionate Partners serving food lovers" directly to customers' homes.

This is more than just a driving job; it's a chance to become part of an employee-owned business where your contributions are valued and you share in its success. As a Customer Delivery Driver, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive their orders with the same care and quality they expect from Waitrose.

What's in it for You? Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Be a Brand Ambassador: You'll be the direct link between Waitrose and our valued customers, building rapport and trust with each delivery. Your excellent customer service skills will be paramount.
  • Competitive Pay with Night Premium: Earn a solid hourly rate of £13.39, with an attractive Night Premium of £3.50 per hour for any time worked between 22:00 and 06:00. This is an excellent opportunity to boost your earnings.
  • Part of a Supportive Team: While driving is a key focus, you'll also contribute to the smooth running of the shop by assisting with tasks like stock replenishment and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. You'll be an integral part of a friendly and productive team.
  • Flexible Working Opportunities: This role offers varied part-time hours (16-18 hours per week) across two days, with flexibility on specific days. Discussions regarding flexible working arrangements, such as compressed hours or job sharing, are encouraged during the interview process, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Join an Employee-Owned Business: As a Partner at the John Lewis Partnership, you're not just an employee; you're a co-owner. This unique ownership model means you share in the responsibilities, rewards, and successes of the UK's largest employee-owned business.
  • Career Development: As you grow with the Partnership, you'll have opportunities for individual and collective growth, contributing to a thriving retail environment.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Driving Proficiency and Compliance: A full, valid B-Category UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 points is essential. You'll be responsible for conducting daily vehicle safety checks to ensure full road compliance and health and safety standards.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to manage the physical aspects of the job, including lifting crates and moving cages.
  • Independent Work Ethic: While you'll be part of a team, a significant portion of your role involves independent driving. Therefore, strong self-motivation and adaptability are key.
  • Technological Aptitude: You'll need to be IT literate to manage delivery routes and potentially other associated tasks.
  • Age Requirement: Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be 18 years or older.
  • Vetting Procedures: Some roles within the Partnership are subject to pre-employment vetting, which may include DBS checks. Successful candidates will be informed and guided through this process.

This Customer Delivery Driver position at Waitrose & Partners in Lutterworth presents a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking a rewarding role within a values-driven, employee-owned organization. If you're ready to deliver excellence and be part of a unique retail experience, we encourage you to apply.
