What you will be doing You will be part of the in-house Data Science team who support the organisation to address the most critical engineering and business challenges, by working with the data around us to provide insights and unlock value. The team uses a dedicated platform based on cutting-edge technologies and tools to solve data science and data engineering problems by collaborating closely with stakeholders from across the business and external partners. Your key accountabilities will be: ⢠Design, develop and evaluate innovative models for predictive learning, visual analytics, data insight and statistical inference ⢠Use all available data, undertaking data discovery and exploration to identify opportunities, develop strategies and techniques to improve results ⢠Use data driven insights to help influence how the organisation approaches engineering and business challenges ⢠Translate technical details, observations and results into business language and effectively communicate to the business and customers making use of available technologies such as those available through Azure ⢠Protect the Company interests in method development and application when interfacing with various scenarios, customers, partners or suppliers according to global codes of conduct ⢠Engage with project owners regularly to review project results, improve quality and satisfy all project requirements, while following our internal Data Science process Who we are looking for At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. These principles form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles. ⢠Academically strong with a Mastersâ degree/PhD in a strong quantitative discipline such as Maths, Statistics or Computer Science, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in data science/numerical/analytical analysis. ⢠Experienced with Predictive Analytics, Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning algorithms and an understanding of the mathematical underpinnings of the techniques. ⢠Experienced coder (ideally Python, Pyspark and SQL) and relevant DS and analytics packages such as sklearn, pytorch, etc. ⢠Cloud technology experience, ideally Microsoft Azure (desirable). ⢠Experience in the use of current analytical and big data platforms and technologies, such as Databricks and Azure Machine Learning (desirable). ⢠Knowledge of visualisation platforms such as Power BI and Tableau would also be beneficial. ⢠Good ability to interpret complex business requirements, translate into analytical problems and deliver high-quality outputs. ⢠Proactive, persistent, customer-focused skilled communicator with a high level of self-motivation, initiative and able to both stand-alone and engage with colleagues, customers and stakeholders.
