We are looking for a Deputy Engineering Manager to become part of our management team. Youâll be assisting the Engineering Manager to support a team of 35 engineers, cleaners, paint shop technicians and support staff who maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles as well as managing plant and buildings. Youâll be supporting a team of professionals who are pretty nifty with a spanner, a mop and a paint brush â all of which are equally as important. Let face it, none of our customers want a dirty bus that works, or a clean and smart one that doesnât! Youâll love supporting, advising and managing the team on a daily basis to maintain and repair our vehicles which include Scania, Volvo, Alexander Dennis and Optare. It a really important role within our depot, so weâll trust you to ensure vehicles are presented to the high standards that our customers want. So this means supporting the Engineering Manager to ensure the health & safety of our team, the quality and efficiency of daily workload, provide training and much more â¦so variety will be aplenty! It not a desk based role as youâll be out in the garage supporting the team however as part of the management team youâll be involved in quality assurance and work scheduling. Youâll generally be working Monday to Friday with weekends on a rota basis and supporting our team across all shifts will be required.
