Our Portfolio Analytics and Reporting team, Global Portfolio and Project Management (GPPM) is responsible for developing analyses to uncover opportunities and support R&D portfolio decisions across Therapeutic Areas and the Enterprise.
Accountabilities
We are seeking an experienced, curious and dynamic individual to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your strong business acumen, expertise in analysis and strategic insights, strong communication skills and senior stakeholder influence, to support senior leaders making data-driven decisions in our R&D portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio Analysis: Lead specialised analyses to answer complex business questions of our R&D portfolio. Conduct primary research, integrate a large quantity of data from a wide range of internal and external sources, to identify trends, risks, and opportunities to maximise portfolio performance
- Strategic Insights: Extract actionable insights and recommendations from analyses, develop into a compelling storyline. Present, gain feedback and endorsement from senior stakeholders. Use data-driven insights to influence investment decisions, resource allocation, and project prioritisation
- Forecasting and Scenario Planning: Lead scenario modeling analysis and simulations to predict future portfolio performance and dynamics to guide strategic planning
- Data Management and Strategy: Define new data sets to fill current data gaps. Work with teams and stakeholders to create structured data to ensure integrity, quality and timeliness for portfolio analysis. Collaborate with Data and Systems teams to enhance data model and the infrastructure to support
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across R&D, Finance, Commercial, and other key functions with all levels of the organisation. Integrate data sets and insights to influence decisions
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for insights from analyses
- Innovation and Culture Champion: Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization by championing change and encouraging innovation. Proactively identify opportunities, leverage a range of toolkit including AI. Inspire the team to embrace new ways of working that improve efficiency, productivity, and collaboration
- Change Project Management: Lead and manage high-impact change initiatives aimed at transforming the ways of working within the Portfolio Analytics and Reporting team and the broader GPPM. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives. Lead the design and execution of the projects with a sharp focus on delivery. Communicate progress and facilitate key decisions by senior stakeholders
Essential Skills/Experience
- Education: Masters degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Data Science, Biological Sciences or Chemistry
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in portfolio management, financial analysis, strategy and transformation or a similar role within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, PowerBI) and experience with data visualization and business intelligence
- Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable business insights
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create concise and compelling presentation, to influence senior management and other stakeholders
- Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated track record in building strong relationships with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in. Experienced in cross-functional collaboration and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Project and Change Management: Experienced in leading change initiatives to transform ways of working. Ensure project delivery as well as sustainable cultural and behavioural change
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Education: PhD in Biological Sciences or Chemistry, or MD
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in top Strategy Consulting companies for the Pharmaceutical industry
