The roleAs a Driver you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll have a key role working within a small but highly effective Transport Services team, where the highest standards will be expected. You'll be required to drive and operate a wide range of general and specialist vehicles, from Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV, which include cars, minibuses and coaches), to rigid Large Goods Vehicles (LGV). You'll be responsible for making sure RAF personnel, equipment and vehicles get to the right place, at the right time!

Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:

Driving and insuring vehicle is fit for purpose, in maintenance and cleanliness. Update all documentation before and after through standard checks and written documentation. Reporting all defects in a time bound process Carry out all driving tasks as requested; this will include car driving for the senior stakeholders

This role is full time and based onsite at RAF Halton, between Aylesbury and Hemel Hempstead. You'll work an average of 39 hours a week on a shift basis, however you'll need to be flexible as there may be changes to the shift roster from time to time, to meet customer needs.

Shift Roster Overview:

Earlies: 06:00–13:30 (Mon–Fri) Lates: 13:00–20:30 (Mon–Fri) Days: 08:00–17:00 (Mon–Thurs), 08:00–16:00 (Fri) 07:30–16:30 (Mon–Thurs), 07:30–15:30 (Fri) Weekend Duty: One in every 8 weeks, 06:30–18:30. Weekday time off provided to avoid 7-day workweeks.

Location Requirement: Candidates must live within 1 hour of RAF Halton.

Essential experience of the Driver

Experience of working with similar type vehicles. Diplomacy is required within the role previous examples of similar experience essential. Experienced with required driving documentation such as Tachograph

Qualifications for the Driver

You'll need current and valid UK Category D Driving Licence. Digital tachograph card.

Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
