The Duty Fleet Manager (DFM) is responsible for coordinating the East Midlands Railway Fleet to ensure that it delivers to the planned daily diagrammed requirements in a safe manner
The role reports directly to the Duty Service Delivery Manager and is a shift-based role covering a 24/7 roster 364 days per year. The role ensures that the fleet is allocated to the appropriate diagram to maintain the overall fleet maintenance plan requirements.
In the role as a Duty Fleet Manager, your key responsibilities will include:
Allocate the East Midlands Railway fleet of trains in order to ensure that all planned diagrams are covered in the correct formations. Chair and attend conferences and meetings with multiple stakeholders.Monitor fuel levels and exam miles of all units across the fleet Compile and deliver set swap information to relevant parties clearly explaining the reasons for the alterations Compile and deliver short/over form information to relevant parties.Manage and deliver maintenance plans from EMR. Manage the fleet following low mileage requests from all parties mentioned above in order to meet the maintenance plans Maintain and publish the Fleet DashboardAssist with the coverage of Nottingham Operations Supervisor role when uncovered. Organise ad-hoc vehicle short term planning (VSTP) moves to balance vehicles in order to cover the train service and for specific maintenance requirements like engine changes, modifications, tyre turning, test runs, Driver training & road learners as requested by the Fleet Maintenance Planning Manager/Depot Delivery Managers/Duty Maintenance Managers, Driver Manager team and Timetable & Planning department Assist the Operational Service Delivery Team within the East Midlands Control to implement the relevant contingency and service recovery plans during perturbation to ensure East Midlands Railway maintains its service levels pertaining to safety, performance and customer service delivery. Maintain vehicle records and allocations in the system. Produce depot stabling reports and control sheets for the next day (start of service summary) and make necessary amendments in a timely manner for distribution to nominated staff at stations and depots. Contribute to the post incident reviews of train faults and failures with the Fleet Planning and Performance Manager to improve incident response and consistent practice and approach to the management of train faults and failures.Key Skills Required:
Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Knowledge of EMR company standards and policies Good knowledge of the principles of fleet maintenance planning and management.Ability to analyse data and implement changes based on the information.Knowledge of EMR railway routes and operations. Ability to influence, motivate and work within a team. Knowledge of the control and fleet delivery systems used to manage the fleet maintenance schedule and monitor performance.Experienced with use of Microsoft office packages and a good level of IT skills.As well as a competitive salary, we’ll also offer you:
