Weâre looking for an experienced and people-focused Engineering Director to lead our South West region, covering five maintenance depots and a fleet of over 450 vehicles across Devon, Cornwall and Guernsey. In this key senior leadership role, youâll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all engineering activity, ensuring our fleet is reliable, our depots are compliant and well-managed, and our people are supported to do their best work every day. Youâll report to the Managing Director and act as one of the nominated Transport Manager's on the Operator Licence. What youâll be doing Leading multi-site engineering teams to deliver safe, reliable and well-presented vehicles Overseeing depot facilities, premises and engineering equipment across the region Promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with all regulations and company standards Developing team capability through coaching, mentoring and technical training Building strong, constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including local authorities and trade unions Championing continuous improvement and innovation within engineering Managing performance to meet agreed budgets, KPIs and service expectations Working collaboratively with colleagues to improve customer satisfaction and align with Stagecoach Customer Value Proposition (CVP) What weâre looking for A recognised qualification in engineering Ideally qualified as a transport manager, but not essential Proven experience leading engineering operations across multiple sites A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with strong communication skills Knowledge of health & safety, environmental and transport legislation Experience delivering to KPIs, managing budgets, and working in a unionised environment Confident managing both strategic planning and day-to-day operational delivery Willingness to travel across the South West and live locally (relocation support available) Why join Stagecoach?
