The role As a Fabricator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will have the opportunity to be part of a team leading the world in the dismantling of nuclear submarines.

Day to day, you’ll carry out planned installations, maintenance and removals of temporary and fixed structures and fittings to support the Submarine Dismantling Programme demonstrating the highest possible attention to detail and ability to follow strict processes.

Removal of pipe systems, mechanical equipment and materials from the Submarines. Installation of equipment to support the Submarine Dismantling Program. Maintenance and management of laid-up Submarines and any materials that go between the vessel and Dockside. Following appropriate training, become qualified personnel with the ability to sign off on a variety of procedures, certifications, and risk assessments. This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time. This position involves working in confined spaces. Candidates must be able to work comfortably and perform tasks in restricted spaces.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week worked Monday to Thursday and is based on site at Rosyth Dockyard, Fife.

Essential experience of the Fabricator

Willing to work in restricted areas with ionising radiation Demonstrate the drive to develop new skills and knowledge base to become qualified personnel Happy to adapt to new ways of working to ensure Understand the importance of following strict process and have a safety-first approach.

Qualifications for the Fabricator

You will hold be a qualified Fabricator, having completed either a Indentured Apprenticeship or Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in a sheet metal, structural steel or fabrication related discipline

Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
