Here at Entrust we have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Finance Assistant to join our fast paced and friendly team as a School Finance Assistant. You would be working closely with schools, multi-academy trusts across the Barnet area to provide varied financial support ensuring that they are able to run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Working onsite within these schools this person will provide support in the provision of a professional accountancy and financial service for schools and academies, by carrying out bookkeeping and related duties. Being onsite allows you to work closely with the school stakeholders, develop networks and be on hand for queries as they arise. This is an invaluable role providing support and guidance when it is needed most. The role is varied and involves visiting different schools and requires excellent interpersonal skills. This is a part time role working 24 hours per week (some flexibility on how this is fitted during the week, the role is also term time only and thus works 39 weeks of the year. Job title: Finance Assistant, Term Time Job Description: What youâll be doing: Maintenance and reconciliation of the accounts Validation and processing invoices Cash flow monitoring Compliance with VAT regulations Validating and processing invoices and income Completion of bank reconciliation Producing reports for the Headteacher Completion of monthly returns posting summary and bank reconciliation Reconciliation of school accounts to the local authority accounts Preparation of reports for the Headteacher and budget holders Assisting with completion of year end creditors, debtors, receipts and payments in advance Assisting with the preparation of year end returns and closing of accounts Setting up the new year budgets in the new financial year Producing reports for validation of budgets set up Unofficial Funds â maintenance of funds accounts to include What weâre looking for: A prove track record of working within finance (ideally in a school setting although this is not essential) A competent user of bookkeeping/accounting packages and Microsoft Office Working experience of bookkeeping/accountancy Able to carry out bookkeeping procedures to produce accurate financial records Based in the Barnet area with access to own transport Excellent communication skills both written and verbal A proactive approach to self development About Entrust Entrust is a joint venture company between Capita and Staffordshire County Council and has supported educational establishments across England to improve outcomes since 2013. âExcellence in educationâ is the heart of our business.
