We trade gas, power, LNG and provide the route to market for our upstream and power generation operations. We are recruiting for a Finance Risk and Control Analyst who will be supporting the finance response to business and regulatory change, including meeting the new requirements under the UK Corporate Governance code Changes. Within the role you will provide advice and support for the Centrica Energy Finance teams, ensure controls are adequate and work with all areas of the business and supporting functions to deliver against our vision for the future of finance and help drive the transformation programme - driving continuous improvement through the Finance automation agenda. This is a London based role (close to Marble Arch) and we require the role holder to be office based 3 days per week. Key role accountabilities: Monitor, maintain and develop the presentational view of Risk and Controls Matrix (RACM) for the Centrica Energy division of Centrica Work with Group Enterprise Risk & Controls (ERC) team to understand external and internal requirements and policies relating to controls in order to advise Centrica Energy Functional teams Communicate changes in reporting requirements, policies and systems to Finance, Commercial Operations, IT, and Risk teams (Centrica Energy Functions) Manage the annual attestation process of the Centrica Energy RACM to ERC that supports reporting to Centrica Audit Committee Provide support and facilitation to Centrica Energy Functions in maintaining their controls in the Centrica Energy RACM Work with Centrica Energy Operational Risk to identify where control incidents have occurred and how to close control gaps or weaknesses Support and coordinate the Centrica Energy Finance team in meeting the new requirements under ‘UK Sarbanes Oxley’ (UK SOx) Gain efficiencies through use of IT systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Power Apps Re-design and move process onto systemised reporting, e.g. Power BI Work with the rest of the team to build a world class accounting and reporting function. The Person: Qualified Accountant Experience with financial accounting and reporting systems Technically savvy and desire to learn how to operate with trading systems (e.g. Endur, EOS, Secure Environment) and process and interrogate large trade datasets (50,000 rows) quickly through spreadsheet (or other) analysis tools A process-focused individual with a passion for continuous improvement and ability to deliver change involving multiple stakeholders A self-starter who can identify issues as they arise and resolve them with minimal involvement from manager Ability and willingness to learn and understand accounting and trading concepts Ability to learn and understand commercial aspects and associated accounting for a variety of contract types A team player who can collaborate with others within Centrica Energy and across Centrica Finance as the need arises Comfortable with ambiguity and calm under pressure with the ability to juggle and prioritise multiple deliverables with a high degree of self-management Ability to present a complex subject in a clear and simple way Effective communication and sense of accountability and ownership of deliverables. #LI-CET Why should you apply?     We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place.
