Financial Crime Due Diligence Manager

Job at Centrica in Glasgow, Glasgow City, G53

Join us, be part of more. We’re so much more than an energy company. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. We're energisers. One team of 21,000 colleagues that's energising a greener, fairer future by creating an energy system that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels, whilst living our powerful commitment to igniting positive change in our communities. Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.    About your team: You’ll be working centrally within our mission control room, aka Centrica group functions. From Finance and Data Science, to our Wellbeing and People teams - this is the engine of our energy system, where our various Centres of Excellence power up each of our brilliant businesses, ensuring they have all the support, technologies, and capabilities they need to get our customers to Net Zero by 2050. We have an exciting new opportunity for a Financial Crime Due Diligence Manager to join our Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Ethics & Compliance, and Secretariat Function (LRECS). LRECS focusses on providing a diverse and inclusive environment with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and delivering opportunities for growth and personal development. You will be an integral part of our expanding Group Financial Crime team, assisting with building, enhancing and maintaining the Centrica Group Financial Crime program as well as leading the ‘know your customer’ (KYC) checks on new and existing third parties, carrying out periodic reviews consistent with Centrica procedures and ensuring that accurate records are kept and maintained. Location: We work flexibly in line with our Flexible First working arrangements believing that empowered colleagues are happier and more productive. The successful candidate will, however, need to be comfortable commuting to our London office on a regular basis and on occasion to our Windsor office. What will you do? Lead on protecting Centrica from risks arising from money laundering & terrorist financing, sanctions, bribery & corruption, fraud and tax evasion, both in the UK-facing and foreign portions of the business. Propose, implement and maintain Centrica Energy wide processes and policies and provide strategic-level guidance and technical advice on financial crime issues across the business, to different audiences as required and in line with group minimum standards. As required, brief on financial crime to our Board and Executive Committee. Support our Senior Due Diligence Manager with line management responsibilities. This includes day-to-day task management as well as broader mentorship, skill development, and succession planning. Own and manage the Centrica Energy Due Diligence Control Framework, including the Financial Crime Minimum Standard and all supporting guidance and documents. Engage with key stakeholders across Centrica to set risk appetites, embed the framework, and ensure their risks and controls continue to be managed in line with agreed risk appetite for both emerging and longstanding risks. Here's what we’re looking for: We are seeking a highly skilled compliance and risk management specialist with extensive experience in due diligence and KYC to standards expected by the FCA. Ideally with global experience, this role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of operating in a regulated environment. Ideally you will also be able to bring an understanding of commodity trading in the energy sector. Qualifications and Skills: Degree or equivalent professional experience; ICA Diploma or ACAMS preferred. Demonstrable management and leadership capability. Gravitas and influencing skills to support senior stakeholders. Sound collaboration skills with peers, team members and internal stakeholders. Why should you apply?     We’re not a perfect place – but we’re a people place. Our priority is supporting all of the different realities our people face. Life is about so much more than work. We get it. That why we’ve designed our total rewards to give you the flexibility to choose what you need, when you need it, making sure that you and your family are supported not only financially, but physically and emotionally too. Visit the link below to discover why we’re a great place to work and what being part of more means for you.    https://www.morethanacareer.energy/centrica   If you're full of energy, fired up about sustainability, and ready to craft not only a better tomorrow, but a better you, then come and find your purpose in a team where your voice matters, your growth is non-negotiable, and your ambitions are our priority. Help us, help you. We would love for you to share any information about yourself throughout our recruitment process so that we can better understand you and help shape your journey. We’re a family of brands revolutionising how we power the planet. When it comes to energy, no one does it like us. We make it, store it, move it, sell it and mend it.
