The Role

Principle Accountabilities

Prepare and test samplesof various formulation types (e.g., slurries, liquids, granules, powders) using development scale equipment, and perform detailed physical/analytical assessments to determine their acceptability. Prepare prototypesfor analytical, sensory, employee panel, or consumer study assessments. Support various categoriesby contributing ideas and opinions in project discussions and team meetings. Raise COSHH and risk assessmentsfor new materials and processes before starting any work. Conduct larger pilot production studiesto prepare for full-scale manufacturing. Develop and implement test methodsto support formulation and prototype assessments.

Skills and Experience Required

Basic qualificationin chemistry/engineering (HNC or equivalent experience). Experiencein liquids formulation, processing, filling, and characterization. Experiencein soft solids formulation and processing (e.g., extrusion, casting). Strong skillsin time management, report writing, and teamwork. Abilityto break down activities into achievable tasks and provide effective solutions. Drive for learningand continuous improvement, with openness to new ideas and techniques.
