Embark on a Rewarding Career as a Funeral Plan Arranger with Co-op Funeralcare

Are you seeking a role where you can make a genuine difference in your community while building a stable and fulfilling career? Co-op Funeralcare is looking for compassionate and dedicated individuals to join their team as Funeral Plan Arrangers, covering the scenic Northumberland region. This is an exceptional opportunity to become a vital support system for families during a significant time in their lives.

About the Role:

As a Funeral Plan Arranger, you will be at the forefront of helping families thoughtfully plan and arrange funeral services. This client-facing role involves building rapport, providing expert guidance on funeral plans, and ensuring a smooth, empathetic experience for clients. No two days are the same, offering a dynamic work environment where you manage your own schedule to meet clients across areas such as Alnwick, Amble, Ashington, Bedlington, Blyth, Cramlington, and Morpeth, with occasional support needed in surrounding areas.

What You'll Do:

  • Offer expert advice and support on funeral plans, guiding clients through their options with clarity and understanding.
  • Proactively manage your calendar, scheduling and conducting client meetings, handling enquiries, and following up to build strong relationships.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with branch teams, offering essential support and guidance on funeral plan-related matters and administrative tasks.

Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Meaningful Impact: Directly contribute to helping families navigate a sensitive time with care and professionalism, offering peace of mind through thoughtful planning.
  • Career Growth & Development: Co-op offers a strong emphasis on continuous learning, with access to apprenticeships and endless career development opportunities.
  • Work-Life Balance: A structured Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm schedule provides a consistent work pattern, allowing for personal time management.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Enjoy a competitive salary of £25,369 per annum (£13.01 per hour), alongside a generous benefits package. This includes significant discounts on Co-op products, 23 days of holiday (rising with service), a pension scheme with substantial employer contributions, access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, virtual GP services, and more.
  • Autonomy and Flexibility: The role empowers you to manage your own diary and travel to meet clients, offering a degree of independence and flexibility in your daily work.
  • Supportive Environment: Become part of a friendly and supportive team that values the significant contribution you make to the community.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Essential Requirements: A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are mandatory for this role, as you will be travelling extensively within the region.
  • Client-Centric Skills: While prior experience in sales, customer service, or financial services is advantageous, it is not essential. The key lies in your ability to communicate with empathy, build trust, and provide exceptional service, especially to clients during vulnerable times. Strong listening skills and a genuine desire to help are paramount.
  • Attention to Detail & Compliance: You'll be working within a regulated industry. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy are crucial for adhering to guidelines and regulations, especially concerning client documentation and FCA requirements.
  • Organisational Prowess: The ability to manage your own workload, time, and travel effectively is vital for success in this role.
  • FCA Regulations: You will be working under FCA regulation. The role requires you to become a 'certified colleague,' which involves training and financial integrity checks to ensure you are eligible to advise on pre-need funeral plans.
  • Background Checks: Be prepared for pre-employment screening, which includes DBS checks, occupational health questionnaires, and financial integrity checks (CCJs or bankruptcy). Your credit score will not be assessed.

Embrace a role that offers not just a job, but a vocation. If you are a compassionate, organised, and empathetic individual looking to make a tangible positive impact, this Funeral Plan Arranger opportunity with Co-op Funeralcare could be the perfect next step in your career journey.
