PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF ROLE

Based at The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages and working alongside a passionate team of individuals across our Beam Suntory sites on Islay, the Hospitality General Assistant role ensures the smooth operation of hospitality duties to allow a world class customer experience to be delivered.

Alongside our team of staff, you will provide support to prepare and serve our Food and Beverage offerings at The Harbour Inn and will undertake Front of House and Housekeeping Duties as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support with the preparation of all menu items as required in line with guest expectations and requirements. • Determine food inventory needs, stock control and ordering. • Updating the team board with relevant hand over information. • Attending team meetings and leading team projects as required. • Accepting and organizing deliveries. • Ensuring H&S checks are completed as scheduled – Fire Safety, Legionella, HACCP, Temperature Controls etc. in line with The Food (Scotland) Act 2015. • Ensuring all food safety and hygiene regulations are met. • Daily cleaning of The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages as required. • Provide a daily room cleaning service in The Harbour Inn hotel rooms as required. • Turnover and cleaning of Bowmore Distillery Cottages as required. • Presentation of The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages to a premium standard. This includes all communal areas throughout The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages. • Check all equipment, lighting etc. is functional throughout The Harbour Inn and Bowmore Distillery Cottages. • Report repairs and maintenance to the department supervisor and/or manager, Action urgent repairs and maintenance by contacting contractors as required. • Suggest and implement continual improvements to enhance the customer experience. • Assist with Front of House service as required.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: QUALIFICATIONS: • Previous experience within the hospitality, retail and/or tourism sector is desirable. • Previous hospitality experience is desirable. • Basic computer skills required.
