JLR has recently established the JLR Foundation (JLRF) as an independent charity with a mission to empower disadvantaged children and young people to meet their full potential. It is an exciting time to join and shape a brand-new grant-making Foundation which will forge long-term partnerships with inspiring non-profits in the UK and beyond.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Reporting to the JLRF Director, this is a senior leadership role responsible for building and overseeing the foundation’s operations and grant management processes.

You will be comfortable in a start-up environment and will have the vision to create the systems and infrastructure needed to establish JLRF as a leading corporate foundation working across multiple geographies.

You will establish clear and effective ways of working with operational functions at JLR, drawing on support and leveraging the enthusiasm and expertise of colleagues within the business. In short, you will ensure that JLRF runs efficiently and that grant making processes enable partners to deliver maximum social impact. Please see below an overview of some of the key responsibilities:

Establish and oversee all operational functions, including finance, HR, operations, admin, and grant applications as well as collaborating with JLR’s supporting functions in these established teams and business areas. Lead annual planning and budgeting to translate strategy into an effective operational plan as well as partnering with the director to foster a positive, high-performing team environment. Work with the Head of Partnerships to develop systems underpinning pipeline development and design an efficient grant-making process which enables partners to maximise their impact (including due diligence, contracting, disbursements and reporting) Ensure compliance with UK Charities Commission regulations, reporting and audit (including responsibility for JLRFs Annual Report) and oversee the Foundation’s risk register (ensuring safeguarding remains a top priority). Lead the expansion of the Foundation’s operations globally, embedding and applying all relevant local charitable and commercial legislation.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Please see below a list of core skills you will need to be successful in this role:

Extensive experience in operations management, ideally within grant-making entities or charities. Expertise in governance, compliance, legal processes, and risk management, ideally within grant-making entities or charities. Strong project management and operational delivery experience in a fast-paced growth environment with multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills, capable of building respectful relationships and influencing stakeholders matching strong financial and budget management skills. Be comfortable leading annual planning and budgeting across all aspects of the foundation such as staffing, forecasting, annual planning, and other running costs involved.

Creating Modern Luxury requires a modern approach to work. At JLR, hybrid working is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement providing employees more choice and flexibility around how, when and where they work. Some roles require more on-site work, but details of this can be discussed with the hiring manager during the interview stage.

We work hard to nurture a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all. We understand candidates may require reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process. Please discuss these with your recruiter so we can accommodate your needs.

Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome. If you’re unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role – but you're interested in where it could take you – we still encourage you to apply. We believe in people's ability to grow and develop within their role – it’s what makes living the exceptional with soul possible.

JLR is committed to equal opportunity for all.
