This role will provide Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability advice and assistance to the University. The role holder will guide and support section managers in the preparation, use and review of risk assessments, method statements, permits to work and related safety documentation. Management of an electronic incident reporting system ISARR (Academic area specific), ensuring that serious incidents are investigated appropriately by the responsible person, actions arising are implemented, and are closed off with the aim of preventing reoccurrence, within the agreed timeframe.
As a Health Safety and Environmental Sustainability Advisor, you can also expect to:
Provide professional advice and guidance on all aspects of operational Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation.Review safety arrangements, identify deficiencies and support with the development of Academic areas procedures and action plans to address these.Undertake the responsibility of auditing the Academic areas and Schools on a rotational basis, using these audits to identify gaps in adherence to standard operating procedures, safe working practices and regulatory compliance and drive forward improvements.What you will bring to the role:
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupation Health and SafetyTechnical knowledge and experience of Building / Estates facilitiesRelevant experience in a Health, Safety and Environmental Sustainability role within an Academic institution background (Radiation, Chemistry, Laser) Ability to analyse and interpret complex data and report on key findingsWhat we can offer in return:
