An exciting opportunity to become part of a small dynamic team in Information Services at the University of Brighton
This is your chance to join a team which provides project management and business analysis expertise for technology projects and initiatives linked to the transformation programme and our Distinctively Brighton strategy.
In this role you will need to exercise a great deal of influence, independence, initiative and judgement, alongside an ability to steer and facilitate discussions balancing stakeholder interests with those of the University so that best outcomes are achieved in its IT development. With a commitment to best practice project management and promoting the discipline, we will want you to also mentor and support colleagues as part of developing the University’s capability in this area.
The successful candidate will be pro-active in collaborating with colleagues in IT, the wider University as well as external parties, bringing project management expertise to a wide range of change and improvement activities to ensure projects are delivered to the highest quality.
The ideal candidate will also need :
Substantial experience as a Project Manager in delivering IT infrastructure and systems development, managing complex IT projects, change and transformation projectsA thorough understanding and demonstrable application of practices, procedures and methods required for effective project management and co-ordination, supported by professional qualification(s) and/or experience such as Prince2, AgileStrong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills with an ability to control and facilitate discussions with colleagues at all levels, both internally and externallyExperience and familiarity with budget, risk, reporting, change control, procurement, business improvement and project management disciplines, as well as change management principlesA well-developed understanding of business analysis and requirements management, as well as benefits management and realisationExcellent organisational, analytical, planning, presentation and written skills, including an ability to articulate technical issues for non-specialist audiencesThis is a full time, permanent position (37 hours per week) based at our Moulsecoomb Campus, and we welcome applications from candidates looking to job share.
