WHAT TO EXPECT

The Industrial Network team, part of the Industrial Operations Strategy organisation, works cross-functionally to define the best Industrial Operations (IO) offerings to support the future global footprint of JLR plants and key supplier nodes. JLR’s Industrial Operations team, comprised of Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain as well as Digital, and Programmes & Strategy, is the heart of JLR. Responsible for delivering iconic brands through Plan, Buy and Make. With in-depth knowledge of manufacturing principles, capacity planning, Total Cost of Ownership, and a passion for strategy development, the Industrial Network team aims to deliver a competitive advantage through a world-class industrial network that meets JLR’s cost, sustainability, and resilience requirements.

As an Industrial Strategy and Planning Specialist, you will play a crucial role in defining the future industrial footprint and optimizing network capacity. Working with teams across Industrial Operations, you will ensure compatibility in Procurement, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to deliver the best end-to-end solution. You will have high autonomy from the outset, shaping and driving future industrial footprint recommendations.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence strategies across the entire Industrial Operations Network, with sites distributed globally including the UK, Europe & India, acting as a knowledge hub on Industrial Network Design. You will take lessons learned and apply those principles to future projects, ensuring that JLR remains at the forefront of industrial innovation and excellence.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Assist in defining the future installed capacity for JLR's manufacturing network to meet demand, ensuring compatibility for long-term studies against Business Planning Volumes Define the best Industrial Operations (IO) global footprint solution for all JLR products and key suppliers influencing our manufacturing operations Design the IO solution for future enterprise operating models, leading the work from Business Kick Off up to Business Approval, and compiling and validating inputs into business cases for footprint and capacity studies. Support the IO requirements for UK and overseas government resources, including the application process where required, and identify key future risks, responding through supply chain strategy resilience actions Collaborate cross functionally across the enterprise including Corporate Strategy to support long term business strategies & Sustainability teams to ensure Industrial Operations Strategy enables our roadmap to nett zero CO2e in 2039 Act as a knowledge hub on Industrial Network Design, applying lessons learned to future projects that influence strategies across all Industrial Operations Network

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Extensive experience in strategic planning and project implementation: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective strategic plans and manage complex projects from inception to completion Proficiency in understanding and applying strategic tools such as SWOT and PESTLE: Strong analytical skills and expertise in utilizing these tools to evaluate business environments and inform strategic decisions Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills: Proven track record of effectively managing multiple tasks and projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion Sound project management experience and expertise in strategic risk management: Comprehensive knowledge of project management methodologies and a strong ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks; Excellent Communication and stakeholder management: the ability to work with multiple stakeholders of all levels across the business, leading teams that do not necessarily report to you
