Join us as a Barclays Internal Audit AVP - Markets Macro. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide independent and reliable assurance to executive management and the Board on governance, risk management, and control effectiveness. You will also contribute to audit planning and execution, risk assessment, control evaluation, and issue resolution. Youll deliver high-quality audit observations and support the development of actionable recommendations to improve business processes.

To be successful as a Barclays Internal Audit AVP - Markets Macro, you should have:

Knowledge of data analytics, coding or machine learning techniques similar to Python or SQL

Audit experience in mid-to-large organizations or financial services familiarity through non-audit roles

Understanding of the regulatory environment

Proven written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement

Some other highly valued skills:

Knowledge of emerging financial products and services

Relevant professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, or CISA

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

This role will be based in London.

Purpose of the role

To support the development of audits aligned to the banks standards and objectives by working collaboratively with colleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, and complying with policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors.Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.
