Internal Audit AVP- Private Bank and Wealth Management

Join us as an Internal Auditor at Barclays where you will play a pivotal role in leading audits within Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management (PBWM). You will work collaboratively with others in BIA to develop strong independent Auditee relationships and conduct audit activity to provide independent and insightful assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls. You will also ensure that audits/assignments on a day-to-day basis are completed to a high standard in line with audit methodology and you will support delivery of the PBWM Audit Plan. You will also contribute to key wider strategic initiatives in BIA

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

Extensive experience in risk based auditing or risk/control preferably in Private Banking or Wealth ManagementRelevant professional qualifications (e.g. ACA, CIA, MIIA, ACCA, CISA, for audit roles; technical qualification for specialist risk team roles; and graduate degree for all)Practical understanding of relevant regulatory environmentExperience of managing audits/driving initiatives in a relevant fieldProven track record of high performance in previous roles to include senior client management

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

Financial services industry knowledgeKnowledge about Financial Crime, Investments, Banking and CreditKnowledge about new and emerging financial products and servicesExperience of leading others during audit assignments

This role will be based in London.

Purpose of the role

To support the development of audits aligned to the banks standards and objectives by working collaboratively with colleagues, providing accurate information and recommendations, and complying with policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

Audit development and delivery support, including financial statements, accounting practices, operational processes, IT systems and risk management.Identification of operational risks to support the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) Audit Plan through risk assessments.Assessment of internal control effectiveness and their capability to identify and mitigate risk aligned to regulatory requirements.Communication of key findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including the Audit Owner, senior managers and directors.Identification of regulatory news and industry trends/developments to provide timely insight and recommendations for best practice.
