Investment Banking Analyst - Equity Capital Markets

Join us as an Investment Banking Analyst at Barclays. Youll play an active role in supporting the Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”) team in the origination and execution of transactions, as well as further building out the profile of our business across the EMEA region with a specific focus on Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Barclays Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”) practice has consistently been a leader across equity issuance products such as IPOs, capital increases, accelerated share placings and equity-linked products in EMEA. Our team has been a partner of trust for many of Europes most high-profile financial, corporate, and private equity clients and is a leader in terms of idea generation, execution advice and co-operation with a world-class Equities distribution platform.

To be successful as an Analyst, you'll need:

Previous Analyst level experience within an Equity Capital Markets functionStrong quantitative and technical abilitiesWell-balanced communication and presentation (verbal and written), multi-tasking and time management skills.Ability to adhere and implement full compliance and regulatory requirements

Strong academic record with a top-class undergraduate degree or equivalent German language skills usefulExcellent internal and external stakeholder management

The role is based out of our Canary Wharf, London office.

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks

Purpose of the role

To raise capital and manage the financial risk of clients, including financial advisory services, identification and origination of market opportunities, research, economic analysis.

Accountabilities

Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate, financial and institutional clients to understand their financing needs and objectives. .Development and maintenance of complex financial models to assess the value of assets, companies, or securities and identify the most appropriate structuring of capital raising initiatives, including equity financing via an initial public offerings, investment grade debt underwriting, leveraged financing solutions for non-investment grade clients, or derivative hedging solutions. .Collaboration with Coverage, M&A, Syndicate, Global Markets, and cross functional teams to ensure successful origination, company due diligence, and execution of various capital market transactions. .Identification, assessment, and management of risks associated with capital markets transactions and development of risk mitigation strategies in alignment with regulatory requirements. .Research, financial data analysis and continued development of market insights and investment recommendations. .
