Investment Banking Director - M&A

The role is a Director level position responsible for assisting clients in providing strategic advisory services in relation to mergers, acquisitions and other types of corporate finance transactions in close coordination with other IB and Banking teams.Responsibilities:

Leverage past investment banking or related experience to enhance Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) origination and execution and contribute to building Citi's franchiseMeet revenue and other financial goals by establishing and maintaining a pipeline of episodic dealsEnsure that proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standardsAnticipate future changes in the marketplaceIdentify and anticipate all types of risks (e.g. industry, portfolio, diversification, sovereign, commercial, currency, etc.)Serve as a mentor to junior BankersBuild client relationships by providing advice and financial solutions tailored to the clients needs and acting as a content provider on market trendsServe as the expert on regulatory, financial and complex strategic issues relating to M&A and other corporate finance transactionsAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

Experience in people managementBachelors degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration preferredMaster's degree in Business Administration preferredExperience working in an investment banking institution(s) and particularly M&AConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communicationDemonstrated ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment

Education:

Bachelors degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMasters degree preferred

“Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the FCA and PRA Certification Regime.

The Certification Regime is one element of the Individual Accountability Regime which came into effect on 7 March 2016.

In order to comply with the requirements of the Certification Regime, Citi entities must take reasonable care to ensure that an employee does not perform a Certified Role without first being certified as Fit and Proper. For this reason, you will be assessed for this role against the Fit and Proper requirements, as described above.

This assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening checks.”
