The Department of Mathematical Sciences and the Probability Laboratory at Bath (Prob-L@B) invite applications from candidates for a position to sustain and extend its academic strength and international presence in Probability.
About the role
The successful candidate will join Prob-L@B, one of the world’s most vibrant probability groups with a range of different research activities and international visitors. See http://www.bath.ac.uk/research/centres/probability-laboratory/ for more details.
The appointee will be expected to deliver a high-quality research programme, and to develop and submit competitive applications for external funding.
Candidates will also be expected to show a commitment to excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, including supervising PhD students.
About us
The Department of Mathematical Sciences has over 70 academic staff from all areas of Mathematics.
There are strong interactions between Probability, Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics, as well as a wide variety of interdisciplinary research projects and industrial collaborations.
Members of Prob-L@B have an important supporting role in the research culture of the Department’s EPSRC centre for doctoral training, SAMBa (Statistical Applied Mathematics at Bath), which has an annual intake of 10-15 research students. See http://www.bath.ac.uk/math-sci/postgraduate/samba/
