Key Responsibilities & Your Impact:
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Hinkley Point C facilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and coordinating all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks, reactive repairs, and refurbishments, ensuring timely completion according to strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Proactively scheduling and planning your own workload to maximize efficiency and meet operational demands.
- Potentially leading teams of engineers, technicians, and contractors on site during maintenance and repair projects, demonstrating leadership and technical expertise.
- Effectively addressing daily site issues, raising reactive tasks with the central service desk, and ensuring their prompt and correct allocation, progression, and closure to minimize any operational deductions.
- Safely and competently handling breakdowns and damage to assets, utilizing your qualifications, training, and experience, including being available for out-of-hours responses when required.
- Contributing to technical reports and procedures for building maintenance activities, sharing your knowledge and insights.
- Ensuring the safe and proper use of all tools and equipment, upholding high safety standards.
- Performing maintenance inspections and repairs on a wide array of commercial systems including heating, water, ventilation, electrical, mechanical, and security equipment.
- Diagnosing faults within mechanical and electrical support systems and rectifying them within your scope of competence.
- Interpreting detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals to guide teams in carrying out planned maintenance, routine inspections, and repairs.
- Undertaking maintenance inspections and repairs on various assets, building fabric, and estate elements, from internal fixtures to external grounds.
- Collaborating with other skilled and semi-skilled maintenance staff to foster cross-skilling and ensure comprehensive coverage of all maintenance activities through teamwork.
- Participating in on-call and emergency call-out arrangements as part of a team effort.
