Mid Market Underwriter - Salary is Competitive Are you a Trading Underwriter seeking a new opportunity, who is keen to join a high performing team that has a strong track record of continuously delivering substantial growth and exceeding plan? We are looking for a Trading Underwriter to join one of our Commercial Underwriting teams in the South East. You will be aligned to a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business within Aviva! The successful applicants will partner with brokers and customers to truly understand their wants and needs, using data insight to ensure we provide whole customer solutions. A bit about the job: We are looking for someone that is a multiclass underwriter (Property & Liability) who can operate within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow a book of commercial Mid–Market business. Due to client visits, you would need to be willing to travel around the South East. Experience in dealing with insurance brokers and or customers. Showcase excellent interpersonal skills, visiting brokers to develop, build up, and strengthen working relationships, as well as ensuring continued visibility in the market. Regular tasks will include managing new business as well as dealing with renewals and mid-term adjustments. You will have the skills to mentor and develop others. Working towards underwriting licence levels as appropriate to your job grade. The job requires you to work collaboratively support both the Lead Trading Underwriter and Underwriting Leader in delivering financials. You will need great organisation and time management skills including the ability to manage own diary successfully in a fast paced environment. Skills and experience we’re looking for: Previous Property and Liability underwriting experience The ability to analyse risks and communicate and present effectively to brokers and/or customers Work collaboratively within a large complex organisation Good knowledge of the FCA and other relevant regulation and legislation Strong commercial business acumen to create and deliver business cases What you’ll get for this role: Our purpose - with you today, for a better tomorrow – is a promise we make to our colleagues too.
