Healthy outcomes start with positive patient experiences.As aOperational Manager - Dedicated Areas, atRoyal Stoke Hospital, Newcastle Road, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST4 6QG,you will be responsible for the overall management and efficient operation of the dedicated service within the Portering including but not limited to Imaging, Emergency Department, AMU, AMRA and Theatres. To be responsible for key strategic decisions that require dedicated Portering input and associated tasks within the prescribed services. Integration with all other Portering services, other support services departments and the Trust departments to ensure a professional and seamless service is delivered.What you'll do:Monitor Portering KPIs daily and address service challenges, collaborating across services.Report all KPIs within agreed timescales as per the Project Agreement.Drive continuous service delivery improvements.Ensure proper staffing levels, skill mix, and cover for sickness/leave.Recruit, train, develop, and retain staff to maintain high-quality service.Address and resolve staff performance issues.Identify service weaknesses and develop remedial strategies.Oversee compliance, training documentation, and staff privacy/dignity, while managing HR and sickness matters.What you bring:Proven track record of managing a team and delivering a Soft FM serviceAwareness of appropriate legislation including (but not limited to) employment, hygiene, health and safetyExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate at all levelsThe ability to implement and drive changes to working practices as requiredDesirableExperience in a hospital environmentHolder of IOSH Working Safely certificateHolder of a Management QualificationWhat we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; its a chance to be part of something greater.
