Salary £24,500 - £27,958 dependent on experience Payroll/Data Handling Clerk Location: One Stockport Exchange, Stockport, Greater Manchester Contract type: FTC 6-9 Months We are looking for a Payroll/Data Handling Clerk to join our Payroll team at our Shared Service Centre in Stockport. The role is Full Time 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This is currently Hybrid 3 set days office based and 2 set days working remotely at home, but may be full time office based if preferred. As a Payroll/Data Handling Clerk, youâll be responsible for the processing of approx. 1200 employees pay on a weekly cycle. Payroll and procedural related training will be given in order to achieve this, however good existing and proven skills in manipulating data in MS Excel will be key, as well as a keen desire to gain some Payroll skills and knowledge. With this in mind, previous Payroll experience is advantageous but not essential. To put some more meat on the bones, the role will involve: Ensuring the timely receipt of data from Stagecoach locations, to strict deadlines Data entry into the Workday payroll system Calculation of pay associated with paid and unpaid leave such as sickness absence, annual leave, parental leave Performing accuracy checks per departmental procedure Self audit Responding to queries from internal and external customers Administrative tasks associated with payroll Weâve got a wish list too; Essential Youâll be computer-literate Youâll have good and sound proven knowledge and working experience of MS Excel Youâll have natural customer service skills and take on tasks with a friendly and approachable manner Youâll have great communication skills, both written and verbal Youâll have GCSE Maths and English. Advantageous but not essential Previous Payroll experience The working hours are as follows: Monday to Friday, flexibly between the core hours of 07:30 and 18:00 with the need to front load more hours at the beginning of the week.
