This is a permanent, part-time (0.4 FTE) term-time only (42 weeks per year) position.
Bishop Grosseteste University (BGU) is located on a beautifully green and pleasant campus just a few minutes’ walk from Lincoln Cathedral, Castle, and the old Roman city. Our story began in the 1860s as an Anglican teacher training college for women, which makes us one of the oldest Higher Education Institutions in the UK. Since then, we've grown, adapted, and modernised to become the thriving university we are today. We're still experts in teaching and education, but we've now got a wider portfolio of exciting degree courses than ever before. We currently offer causes in a wide range of subjects, from Undergraduate Degree level to PhD, and much more in between.
We are looking for a technician to work in a flexible manner across term times, beginning September 1st, 2025. A key part of the role will be to prepare equipment for our Primary Initial Teacher Education programmes and to deliver this to teaching rooms across campus, as well as collecting and putting it away in a tidy and efficient manner.
The applicant will need to be very organised and practical and will need to be available to start work on campus between 7.30am and 8am to enable preparation for teaching starting at 9am. The applicant will also need to be flexible, to fit in with teaching requirements throughout the teaching year and to be able to work on their own initiative as well as within the team of Faculty Technicians.
