Role Overview:
As a Principal Lecturer in Games and Media, you will play a pivotal role in leading the academic areas, to grow and develop the taught and research provision, working with the Faculty Leadership Team to deliver on the University’s strategy and mentoring the next generation of game designers and creative media professionals. You will work closely with a diverse team of colleagues and students, contributing to a vibrant and supportive community.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic leadership and line management of the subject areaDeliver Programme Leadership, lead cognate programmes and take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the curriculum and for the efficient and effective allocation of resources, and develop undergraduate and postgraduate courses across the Games and Media area.Evidence of research and scholarly activity in relevant areas.Mentor and support staff and students from diverse backgrounds to actively contribute to enhancing the student experience.Collaborate with industry partners to enhance the curriculum and provide students with real-world experience.Contribute to the strategic direction of the Games and Media area.Qualifications and Experience:
Masters degree or higher in a relevant subject specialism (Games, Music Production, Filmmaking)Experience of holding academic posts in HE, with a strong background in professional practice, teaching, and learning.Ability to develop and manage an academic team of staff.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to develop and maintain the necessary external networks.A commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in academia and the industry.The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh is desirable.Why Join Us?
