Job Description Service Technician (Team Leader) – mtu rail engines Full Time Edinburgh Haymarket An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Product Service Technician to join Rolls-Royce Power Systems at one of the depots at the locations mentioned above. In this role, you will conduct routine maintenance and repairs on mtu rail products to the standard specified in the approved manuals and in accordance with the requirements of the contracts. What you will be doing: In this interesting role you will: Compliance of Responsibilities listed within RRSUK HSMS and Employee Handbook Proactive involvement in the Company HSQE management processes. Submit observation/near miss reports and encourage others in the team to do so as well. Support investigations into observation/near misses, accidents or incidents. Perform preventative and corrective scheduled maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule. Actively participate in the ongoing continuous improvement activities for both maintenance and procedures. Attend and participate in meetings with the customer where necessary to obtain sign off for work that has been carried out on the customers equipment. Undertake fault finding and repair when required using appropriate technical information (e.g. Technical drawings and fault finding guides). Completion of relevant documentation for all work carried out in order to accurately record activities that are recorded for the company and the customer. To participate in 24/7 shift working including callout when required. Control and motivation of the team in order to maximise the available hours and to assist when required with technical and product support issues. When necessary order parts and completion of documentation. Ensure all team members are complying with the SGB Quality and Environmental standards. Monitor team competence and take appropriate action for shortfalls. Providing technical support to team members as and when required. Conduct quality and competency inspections as necessary.
