The role As a Production Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will have the technical input required to support production teams through resolution of technical issues and to continue the maturation of our product through implementing improvements to our current manufacturing processes.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for integrating all information for the fabrication, assembly, test, and machining into the production order package and other supporting fabrication documents. You will also:
Determine and develop the necessary process specifications for work and rework instructions which include assembly, machining, welding, fabrication, dimensional control, NDE which are required as per contract and to facilitate these procedures through to production handover. Train and develop other team members to an appropriate level. Identify Health and Safety requirements for all associated processes.
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Rosyth.
Essential experience of the Production Engineer
Working knowledge and understanding of the production techniques in one of the following fields: metal forming and fabrication, machining (CNC), assembly of complex engineering systems. Demonstrate the ability to identify and develop production engineering requirements and procedures for set-up, proving and implementing efficient production processes. Experience of working in a mechanical manufacturing environment. Skilled in utilising Lean tools and techniques and developing a continuous Improvement culture. Ability to use recognised techniques for resolution of complex root cause and corrective action investigations.
Qualifications for the Production Engineer
Degree/HND/HNC qualified in an appropriate engineering discipline. Extensive manufacturing experience will also be considered as applicable to the role.
