The role As a Project Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This entry-level role in Project Management provides the chance to work on key Devonport projects, with excellent career progression into areas like Project Management, Engineering, Risk, and more.

Day-to-day, you’ll support the department’s project function by providing project updates, assisting with scheduling, and using data analysis to identify and implement improvement opportunities for Project Managers.

Capture an array of engineering data relating to the dockyard’s Welding & NDT outputs to drive improvements. Maintain and collaborate to a standardised reporting culture within the department. Ordering of materials and ensuring their registration, and calibration records are compliant. Assist with bespoke projects, effectively interacting with a large range of stakeholders.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Project Engineer

Strong computer literacy with a willingness to adapt to new software. Solid understanding of Welding Quality Management and its critical outputs. Proficient in statistical methods with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills for engaging with teams, stakeholders, and suppliers. Valuable knowledge of project and equipment life cycles.

Qualifications for the Project Engineer

Preferably holds an ONC or C&G qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, however, equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Business Administration NVQ Level 2 and 3 qualifications - Desirable Association of Project Management Project Fundamentals Qualification - Desirable.

Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
