As a Quantity Surveyor at UKPN Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting the commercial operations of the UKPN Services business. You'll be instrumental in managing commercial aspects of long-term contracts and client projects, from initial setup to dispute resolution, with a clear focus on profit maximisation and contract compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing commercial leadership or support for a portfolio of contracts and client projects.
  • Ensuring adherence to UKPN guidelines, goals, and procedures, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborating with project delivery teams to ensure contract observance and project progression.
  • Assisting in tender preparation, analysis, and recommendation reporting.
  • Providing expert advice on contract application and interpretation, particularly with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
  • Managing change control procedures and actively participating in annual rate reviews.
  • Assessing subcontractor and supplier contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Resolving contract issues and assisting in dispute resolution, including preparing comprehensive documentation.
  • Assessing contractor applications, making recommendations, and preparing payment certificates.
  • Proactively identifying and managing project risks and opportunities.

This role offers hands-on experience with projects up to £20 million in turnover, providing substantial exposure to diverse commercial challenges. You'll have the opportunity to work across various high-profile industries, including airports, defence, nuclear, and rail, which may require obtaining specific client access passes and licenses.
