The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Renewables Engineer to join our Civil Delivery team supporting hydro operations across Argyll. Youll work on a wide variety of meaningful engineering projects that help maintain and improve our hydro infrastructure—supporting renewable generation that powers communities across Scotland.
You will
Work with experienced engineers and technicians to ensure our hydro assets are safely and efficiently operated, maintained and refurbished. Support the development and delivery of engineering projects across civil and mechanical disciplines, including overhauls, repairs and refurbishments. Take ownership of projects of varying complexity, contributing to planning, site supervision, construction oversight and commissioning activities. Gain hands-on experience working with major hydro infrastructure such as hydraulic gates, valves, tunnels, pipelines, buildings and dams. Develop your engineering and project management skills, working towards higher levels of responsibility after training.You have
Experience in construction or project management, plus relevant experience in civil or mechanical engineering (degree or similar qualification preferred). A motivated, enthusiastic approach with the ability to work safely and effectively in a fast-moving operational environment. Strong communication skills and confidence working with colleagues across different disciplines and locations. Willingness and ability to work in varied environments—including at height and in confined spaces—alongside knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements. A full UK driving licence, as travel to remote hydro sites is required.Experience of hydro is preferred but not essential as full training can be given for candidates who meet all of the above requirements.
