About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Research Associate to become a core part of a team working in the field of AI-Power: Artificial Intelligence for Next Generation Power Electronics. The University of Bath is an international partner in collaboration with Aalborg University, Danfoss, Neurospace, Xtel, and UCRC. The AI-Power project aims to bridge the gap to industry applications by developing tailored physics-informed AI tools for energy efficiency boost and life-cycle-cost reduction of power electronics and its applied systems. A lower grade offer may be made (Grade 6) with comparable reduction in responsibilities and amendment in job title to Research Assistant if a suitable applicant cannot be found to fill the Grade 7 position. Applicants will need to be within six months of their course completion date and will be promoted to Research Associate once their PhD has been awarded. 

About you

Our ideal candidate will have proven-research experience in at least one of the following areas:

Condition and health monitoring of motors and power electronic convertersInternet-of-things (IoT) and data analyticsFault diagnosis of mechanical or electrical systemsThe application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for engineering application

This position is offered on a full-time fixed term basis for one year.
