Research Associate in Nonlinear PDEs (AP

About the RoleWe seek a research associate in Nonlinear PDEs with a Ph.D. in mathematics and a demonstrated ability to conduct high-level research. We are particularly interested in candidates working in the following areas:

Construction of solutions to nonlinear elliptic equations that arise as stationary or traveling-wave solutions in problems related to geometry and physics.Analysis of singularity formation and asymptotic behavior of solutions to evolutionary PDEs, particularly in geometric flows and fluid dynamics.Problems involving the evolution or equilibrium of long-range interactions modeled by nonlocal equations.

As a member of Research Staff at the University of Bath, you will be encouraged to take up a minimum of 10 days professional development pro rata per year.

Required Expertise

A Ph.D. in mathematics, obtained in 2020 or later, with research experience in nonlinear PDEs or related fields such as Fluid Dynamics, Geometric Analysis, or the Calculus of Variations.A demonstrated research record, including written publications and the effective communication of results through seminars or conferences.

This is a fixed term position offered on a full time basis from 06/10/2025 for 24 months.
