Research Engineer (instrumentation)
We are looking for a part-time research engineer (14 hours per week) to join the Structure and Motion Laboratory, a multi-disciplinary research group investigating different aspects of animal structure and movement. The post holder will work with academic research staff and senior technical staff involved in the design and development of innovative custom electronic and electro-mechanical systems and devices for the collection of experimental data from a range of animal species and non-animal systems.
Candidates should be able to construct electronic and electrical circuits and sub-systems from schematic diagrams, construct simple mechanical systems and carry out first-line trouble-shooting, testing, repair, and maintenance of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical systems. Competence with electronics workshop equipment and mechanical hand and bench tools is required.
