This project is a part of the consortium for Accelerating Impact programme from EPSRC to scale up CO2 electrolyser for CO production, and derisk for further commercialisation.
The project aims to addresses the main priorities of the engineering net zero mission by accelerating deployment of a new technology that unlocks net-zero chemicals/e- fuels production and offers a route to valorise the CO2 captured in the decarbonisation of the foundation industries.
We are seeking to a talented and enthusiastic Research Associate/Assistant with experience of research in electrochemical systems, electrochemical catalysis, reactor design and process optimisation for CO2 electrochemical reduction.
You will be working with leading experts from a dynamic and multidisciplinary team including University of Liverpool, University of Southampton and University of Surrey. In addition to cutting edge research, training and networking activities are provided to nurture the development of ECRs. Further information, please contact eileen.yu@soton.ac.uk

• Analysis and presentation of electrochemical data
• Design and optimisation CO2 electrolyser from lab scale to 100 cm2
• Investigate materials (electrode substrate, membrane and catalysts)
• Synthesis and interpretation of data
• Simple process simulation and modelling
• General lab organization and coordination
• Assist supervising PhD, Master and undergraduate project students
• Data collation, presentation and reporting
