Our security team are key to the University's success. Generally being the first interaction our customers and visitors will have with us, the service they receive from you and the team will shape their experience.
As a security team member you will provide a welcoming, safe and secure environment for both staff and students. Based predominately at our main Kedleston Road campus, you will be a point of contact for advice, guidance, and will support on all security related matters. You may be based at other campuses on an 'as and when required' basis.
To excel in this role, you must demonstrate a solid foundation of qualifications, skills, and experience. The successful applicant will possess GCSEs at grades A to C in Maths and English or equivalent certifications, ensuring a strong academic base. A security-related qualification is highly desirable, although a willingness to work toward obtaining one is equally valued. Holding a full, clean UK driving license is essential for the role, reflecting the need for flexibility and reliability.
The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service, particularly in roles related to customer support or security. Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism are key to maintaining high standards in customer interactions. Additionally, the ability to conduct minor investigations and produce detailed written reports is crucial. This highlights the need for analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective written communication skills.
Overall, this role seeks a well-rounded, motivated individual who is prepared to meet the challenges of a dynamic environment with a focus on customer and security excellence.
