Job Description Project Delivery Professional â Dockyard Projects (Submarines) Full time Derby (Raynesway) What you will be doing: An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Dockyard Projects Delivery Team for a Project Delivery Professional to join the team and deliver rigs that interface directly with the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant (NSRP) in support of reducing boat maintenance periods. You will work as part of a multi-disciplined team consisting of project, mechanical, systems and EC&I engineers utilising support from other functions around the Submarines Business and wider enterprise. The projects will be fast paced with delivery dates which are challenging. This is an exciting time to join what is a growing part of the Submarines business. Responsibilities Youâll be taking responsibility for the control and delivery of appropriately complex packages of work from initial scoping and costing, through stakeholder and resource commitment to execution and delivery. You will monitor, review and manage work package status with the technical team and provide the conduit for reporting to the customer in line with programme requirements. Support the Dockyard Project Delivery Team to deliver project requirements ensuring that overall project outputs are achieved. Responsible for delivery to cost, specification and time for defined packages of work and proposing/implementing corrective action if these are not expected to be met. Ensure the Submarines project controls processes are effectively deployed and maintained for all work throughout the project lifecycle. Maintenance of project information within Executive Systems e.g. SAP and ARM. Identify efficiencies or improvements in all areas, showing a willingness to identify and recommend improvements outside of their immediate role, benefiting the wider business. Continuous Improvement including Strategy, Planning and Reporting. Co-ordinate work across wider teams, in line with agreed project controls processes and controlling activities including gated reviews, monitoring, priorities, dependencies, procurement, quality, work authorisation, change control, approvals and stakeholder management. Work with the planner and multi-discipline teams to develop detailed plans and estimates to meet business objectives, ensuring they are realistic, maintained and delivered against. Support project reviews by producing management reports. This will be for both internal and external customer reviews and cover all aspects of project progress against plan, resource, risk, deliverables and earned value. Provide input to financial management, including monthly monitoring, quarterly forecasts, budgets and estimates to completion. Degree in a relevant engineering or business discipline or equivalent level of continuous professional development and experience. Good understanding of engineering and/or operations activities. Experience of working with Engineering/Design through Manufacture projects and programmes. Ability to work with minimum supervision in order to deliver results and to work in ambiguous situations, whilst working to tight timescales and achieving quality outputs on time. Have a proven track record in project delivery and the ability to operate in a complex environment within previous organisations. APMP or PRINCE 2 qualifications would be desirable. A working knowledge of SAP and/or scheduling tools in relation to project management activities is desirable. Experience of creating and maintaining schedules in Primavera P6 planning tool, whilst not essential will be beneficial to the role. Proficient user of Microsoft Office suite (Excel essential).
