Data Business Partner

Join us at Barclays as a Data Business Partner. In this role you will be acting within a team of data partners and analysts, you will be responsible for the delivery of an evolving capability within the Chief Data Office (CDO) focused on meeting data quality and control standards across multiple areas of the business. This is a unique role for an individual with strong project delivery experience, but also a willingness to investigate business challenges at a detailed level across data sets, operational processes, business controls and applications. You will need the ability to perform detailed impact assessments, development of business requirement and business cases; with the key goal to be providing best in class data advisory services to stakeholders/business partners.

To be successful as a Data Business Partner you should have:

Experience in business analysis within a data management capability.Demonstrable track record of successful project and change delivery whilst dealing with competing priorities.Dedicated team player who is results-oriented with proven and effective leadership and line management.Strong Collaboration skills to be able to engage, influence and work across different geographies with diverse stakeholders.Experience in analysing data to draw business relevant conclusions and summarising succinctly to stakeholders.Markets business and products understanding and experience.

Some other highly valued skills/experience include:

Data management, risk and controls within a financial services organisation, at a senior level.Delivery within a regulatory environment e.g. SEC, FINRA etc.Process improvement or Lean Six Sigma certification.Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE, PMI).

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.This role is based in Glasgow.

Purpose of the role

To implement data quality process and procedures, ensuring that data is reliable and trustworthy, then extract actionable insights from it to help the organisation improve its operation, and optimise resources.

Accountabilities

Investigation and analysis of data issues related to quality, lineage, controls, and authoritative source identification.Execution of data cleansing and transformation tasks to prepare data for analysis.Designing and building data pipelines to automate data movement and processing.Development and application of advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and AI, to solve complex business problems.Documentation of data quality findings and recommendations for improvement.

They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions..Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
