Lancaster University Information Systems Services (ISS) department is looking for a Senior Developer to join the Enterprise Operations team on a Fixed Term Contract.
The contract will be 6 months duration, until 31st July 2026
The ISS department is undergoing a significant digital transformation. We have a requirement for additional development resource to support the team’s delivery of a range of new initiatives as part of a multi-year digital transformation.
The primary focus of the role is to support several medium sized projects through analysis, design procurement and delivery stages. We are looking for a candidate with experience of projects involving vendor solutions and migration of on-prem services to cloud platforms. You must also be adept at building integrations between products and services using API’s and handling legacy codebases.
You would be joining the Enterprise Operations development team, which currently consists of 5 full-time software developers and 2 contract developers. The team is responsible for a wide range of Software products and services including bespoke products developed in-house, customised third party Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, and externally managed products.
The successful candidate will have experience of:
Working with vendor solutions such as ERP, CRM, Facilities management
Migrating on-prem solutions into the cloud
Complex system integrations with internal / external systems and data sources
Develop scalable C# .NET Core applications with a focus on high performance
Building user interfaces using Angular or similar frameworks
Develop and optimise SQL databases and stored procedures
Contribute to technology planning and decision making
Design and implement complex system architectures and solutions.
Experience working within Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies
A degree, professional qualification or career experience in a relevant field
The role is primarily based on the Lancaster University Bailrigg campus, with flexible hybrid working options to support a positive work-life balance. We would expect a minimum of 2 days a week in the office.
