Senior European Gas Trading Analyst

We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.  About your role: As a Senior Gas Market Analyst you will be responsible for fundamental analysis of European gas markets in support of propriety trading activity. You will provide market view / calls based on bespoke fundamental modelling, forecasting and monitoring of main factors and news flows. You will work jointly and collaboratively with other Gas Analysts (and other desks where relevant) to further expand and improve the desk analytics platform. This role is based out of our London office located close to Marble Arch. Accountabilities will include: Provide and market insights for Traders and senior stakeholders based upon interpretation of market fundamentals Together with Front Office Developers, build and develop models and tools to support gas analysis activity, visualization of conclusions and automate daily routines Forecast market dynamics of gas and its correlated commodities (e.g. oil, power, etc.) Carry out technical analysis (i.e. price brands, curve and shape trends) of the gas markets Recommend “a market call” and associated trading strategy (e.g. entry points, target levels, etc.) that may be used by traders to prop trade or hedge. What we're looking for: Strong numerical level qualification with technically strong credentials Experience of working within a commodity trading environment or similar commercial or market analysis space Strong experience and knowledge around the European Gas Markets, Global Gas Markets A strong technical toolkit for modelling (stack building, Monte Carlo, etc.) within the commodity markets Able to demonstrate a high level of commercial acumen Understanding of trading techniques and strategies (for example, hedging, optionality and extrinsic value capture) Skilled in tool building, market forecasting, economic stacks, flow models – built on a programming platform A strong working knowledge of Python is required.
