Embark on a Purpose-Driven Career: Senior Financial Crime Enhanced Due Diligence Analyst Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organization that is actively reshaping the energy landscape. Far beyond a traditional energy company, this is a collective of brands united by a powerful purpose: to revolutionize how we power the planet and foster a greener, fairer future. With a team of 21,000 colleagues, the company is committed to an energy system that moves away from fossil fuels and drives positive community impact. If you're seeking a role where you can find more purpose, passion, and potential, this opportunity is undoubtedly #MoreThanACareer.

As a Senior Financial Crime Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Analyst within Centrica Energy, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the organization against sophisticated financial crime risks. This role offers a chance to leverage your expertise in leading complex due diligence investigations, applying expert judgment to assess third-party relationships, transactions, and ownership structures across global jurisdictions. Success in this position requires a robust understanding of financial crime legislation, a keen commercial awareness, and the ability to expertly balance stringent regulatory compliance with efficient business enablement.

Key Advantages for Candidates:

  • Impactful Role: You will be at the forefront of mitigating financial crime risks, playing a critical role in protecting the organization's integrity and reputation.
  • Global Exposure: The opportunity to analyze complex international structures and jurisdictional risks provides valuable global experience.
  • Career Growth & Mentorship: This role offers the chance to mentor junior analysts, contributing to their development while staying abreast of evolving regulatory and geopolitical landscapes.
  • Purpose-Led Organization: Be part of a company with a clear mission to create a sustainable and equitable energy future, aligning your career with significant societal impact.
  • Comprehensive "Total Rewards": The organization prioritizes employee well-being, offering a flexible working approach and a rewards package designed to support financial, physical, and emotional health.
  • Innovative Environment: Join a team that is actively leading the energy transition through innovative products and intelligent energy solutions.
  • Inclusive Culture: The company fosters a culture that celebrates differences, encourages authenticity, and champions belonging, ensuring that diverse realities are supported.

Key Considerations for Your Career Path:

  • Location Flexibility with Office Presence: While the company embraces flexible working arrangements, candidates should be comfortable with a requirement to work from the London office at least three days per week.
  • Deep Expertise Required: This role demands extensive experience in EDD, AML, or financial crime compliance within regulated sectors. A strong understanding of energy and commodity markets, along with geopolitical risk, is highly advantageous.
  • Analytical Prowess: Proficiency in advanced analytical skills and experience with specialized due diligence tools (e.g., World-Check, LexisNexis) and OSINT techniques are essential.
  • Stakeholder Management: The ability to effectively engage with and influence stakeholders across various business functions, including legal, compliance, and front-office teams, is crucial.
  • Regulatory Acumen: A deep knowledge of global financial crime laws and regulatory frameworks, coupled with sound regulatory judgment, is a cornerstone of this position.
  • Certifications: While preferred, relevant certifications such as ICA or ACAMS will significantly strengthen your application.

If you are driven by a desire to make a tangible difference, possess a strong ethical compass, and are eager to contribute to a transformative industry, this Senior Financial Crime EDD Analyst role presents a compelling opportunity to advance your career while actively shaping a better tomorrow. Discover why working here is truly #MoreThanACareer and how your ambitions can become our priority.
