As a Materiality Manager, you will have the lead responsibility for designing and developing sustainable and responsible colour and materials content for our brands. You will create and realise creative materiality solutions for both interior and exterior applications through to production. Delivering more sustainable and responsible material initiatives is key to the role.

WHAT TO EXPECT

In this role, no two tasks are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it’s a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organisation. Here’s what to expect:

Leads the development and execution of the Materiality strategy, including colour palettes, finishes, and material technologies from concept to production. Ensures alignment with business sustainability goals and design vision across UK and China teams Acts as a key liaison between UK and China design teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Drives co-creation and collaboration across creative teams, suppliers, and joint venture partners to maintain design integrity and feasibility Oversees end-to-end delivery of materiality content for vehicle programs, ensuring timely delivery to meet program gateways. Manages digital and physical assets, model builds, and materiality contributions to both interior and exterior designs Coaches and mentors’ designers, fostering a positive team culture of creativity, openness, and high performance. Responsible for workload management, performance development, and promoting best practices in line with the creators code within the team Maintains clear and consistent communication with senior leadership, program teams, and suppliers. Prepares and presents materiality content for senior-level reviews, ensuring alignment with brand and customer expectations

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you’ll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

Evidence of previous experience in leading and guiding Materiality designers, leading Materiality program level strategy and delivering programs across creation and realisation. Evidence of instigating and driving key material developments and finding pragmatic creative solutions is required, as well as knowledge of the current production process High knowledge of automotive materials (or analogous product industry) processes and suppliers with a high degree of competitor awareness Experience with leading / guiding creative and strategic bodies of work and Program projects Broad understanding of the global design world (with understanding of analogous industries) with experience in International Design Centres Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to all levels of the organisation and management and be an excellent team player Confident team leader with proven coaching and mentoring skills
