About this opportunity Weâre looking for a dynamic leader to take ownership of LBG Digital Assets policy. In this role, youâll be accountable for policy development and proactive engagement with UK regulators and trade bodies. Working across the Group, youâll design and implement LBG advocacy strategy for Digital Assets, ensuring our voice is heard in this rapidly evolving space. What youâll do Collaborating closely with infrastructure colleagues, youâll ensure that the National Payments Vision implementation reflects developments in Digital Assets and aligns with LBG priorities. Youâll provide thought leadership on policy and regulatory responses, developing robust policy positions and house views informed by insights from colleagues across the Group and your own high-quality analysis. In-depth knowledge of payments regulations and digital assets regulations such as MICA and the Genius Act will guide LBG policy and business decisions. Previous compliance or regulatory experience as a consultant or lawyer will be highly valuable. Acting as a regulatory specialist for Digital Assets, youâll advise and prepare for senior meetings, engaging up to and including Executive level, supported by exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Youâll manage LBG interactions with authorities and trade associations on the Digital Pound, responding to regulatory calls for evidence, Design Notes, and consultations. Using your expertise in emerging technologies and new forms of money, youâll shape LBG engagement and identify opportunities to utilise these innovations within our regulatory status in the UK financial ecosystem. Youâll also assess commercial viability and key considerations within Digital Assets. Strong external connections are essential. Youâll build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at BoE and FCA, ensuring LBG voice is prominent across the Digital Assets space. Advising and guiding senior leaders, youâll provide briefings, counsel, and market knowledge when representing LBG externally. Youâll lead the creation of new schemes and market rules, and product manage relevant cross-border initiatives such as Agora and Nexus, tracking progress through wider Group Payments. What youâll need Experience in the Digital Assets regulatory and legislative sector, including applied knowledge of stablecoins, cryptoassets, and emerging foundational technologies like DLT, whether in the UK or worldwide. You'll have knowledge of the Bank of England Digital Assets policy developments, or similar international initiatives (such as those within BIS). Proven engagement in roles connected to the FCA or Bank of England payments or digital assets regulatory or oversight teams, or with international regulatory bodies. Alternatively, youâll have experience working within consultancies on Digital Assets, collaborating directly with innovative firms, or leading think pieces. Either way, you bring deep expertise in banking, including treasury and trading across financial markets. Youâll have experience with the commercial structure of payment schemes, including total cost of ownership and commercial drivers. Demonstrated proficiency in written and spoken communication, able to develop written and visual content suited to diverse audiences, including senior leaders and non-specialists. You'll have the ability to translate technology developments into regulatory engagement and industry influencing, and will be experienced in developing influencing strategies and tactics. Be an independent worker, able to take initiative to identify what needs to be done with limited mentorship or instruction. Youâll be comfortable managing competing priorities and working cross-organisationally, at pace.
