Working predominantly on offshore wind and cable installation projects you will join our team of metocean and numerical modelling specialists, who provide metocean analyses supporting offshore wind from pre-feasibility through to construction. You will be delivering metocean projects, generating, analysing, and reporting metocean data to support engineering design and installation.
You will also be supporting the team in the continual advancement and delivery of our SEASTATES and Weather Downtime Services as well as applying your skills and experience to other types of projects including cables installation, port and coastal developments, and vessel routing.
About you We are looking for a metocean specialist who is confident in applying their technical expertise to the handling and quantitative assessment of oceanographic data. You have an attention to detail, are highly organised, and self-motivated, with excellent report writing and presentational skills. Experience with numerical modelling would be a significant advantage.
You will have skills and experience in:
Metocean analysis and the use of metocean data analysis tools and scripts Generation of operational statistics and extreme value analysis Sourcing, critical appraisal and preparation of oceanographic and meteorological modelled and survey data for metocean projects Use, application and development of data analysis code (e.g. MATLAB, Python) Relevant coastal, estuarine and shelf sea oceanographic processes knowledge and understanding, to inform and underpin assessments Application of quality assurance and checking procedures Production of high quality metocean reports and supporting deliverables
Experience in some or all of the following would also be beneficial:
Numerical modelling preferably using MIKE Knowledge of MATLAB, Python, R or other coding languages Specification (and/or actual execution) of metocean field surveys An appreciation of offshore and coastal engineering and maritime operations Project management
You have:
A degree (and preferred, postgraduate degree) in oceanography, physics, mathematics or other relevant discipline At least 4 years’ relevant marine experience in a consultancy, developer organisation or regulatory backgroundWhy join us?
