An opportunity to play your part – Join our dynamic team at British Gas Energy as a Senior Mobile Application Engineer. In this exciting role, you'll be at the forefront of developing and maintaining the mobile app and supporting APIs for Hive Connected Homes. You'll have the opportunity to work across our entire suite of innovative products, including Hive Active Heating, Lighting, EV Charging, Sensors & Plugs, and the associated subscriptions and services. If you're passionate about cutting-edge technology and eager to make a real impact, this is the perfect place for you. Location: UK, Windsor (talk to us about flexible working) The day to day: Work in a dynamic and highly skilled team. Review and enhance existing functionality, ensuring it is performant. Contribute to general app maintenance, including dependency upgrades and modernisation, where applicable. Contribute to technical improvements, optimisations, and help improve and enhance testability/coverage. Work on new features and/or bug fixes within target timeframes. Take part in code reviews and provide constructive feedback where necessary. About You Exposure in mobile application development using JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and React Native. Strong skills in React/React Native and JavaScript/TypeScript are essential. Experience with unit testing and/or mobile UI testing frameworks is beneficial, with a solid understanding of testing concepts being essential. Familiarity with Redux/Redux-Saga/Redux Toolkit/RTKQuery is advantageous. Experience with iOS or Android development and deployment is useful but not mandatory. Experience with submitting iOS or Android builds to app stores for review/release is beneficial but not required. Familiarity with continuous integration tools such as CircleCI, Travis, and AWS CodeBuild. Experience with performance profiling and optimisation of React Native/mobile applications is useful but not essential. Familiarity with accessibility best practices in mobile applications is advantageous. Experience with developing and maintaining Native Modules within React Native is beneficial but not required. Familiarity with AWS Cognito, OAuth, or other SSO providers. Experience with cloud providers such as AWS. What's in it for you?
